| Get yer burn on at the annual Tucson Firefighters Chili Cook-Off this Friday. Tucson rollergirls will be on hand, helping the firefighters dish out buckets of spicy goodness and selling tickets to Saturday's Black On Tan bout.
The Chili Cook-Off is a free fundraiser that features these fire teams serving $1 cups of chili, cooked and served by firefighters who compete for awards for Best Chili, Best Decorated Booth, and Team Spirit.
There are also jumping castles, a mini-train, and face painters in the children's play area. Live music scheduled for this year's Chili Cook-Off includes country-western artist JD Norris, rock band The Jelly Project, the True Devotion Motown Revue, variety artists Second Chance, and Pueblo High School's Mariachi Band.
The Chili Cook-Off raises funds for the Tucson Firefighters Adopt-A-Family Program. Proceeds help provide needy families with food, clothing basic necessities, and toys throughout the holiday season.
Participating fire districts include Tucson Fire, Northwest Fire, Drexel Heights Fire, Avra Valley Fire, South Tucson Fire, Golder Ranch Fire, Green Valley Fire, Tucson International Airport Authority Fire, and Air National Guard Fire.
